If you don’t think you have any need for a digital agency, you may be interested to read this. BBC figures show that UK consumers spent £33 billion online in 2009. And you can hardly blame them: the internet has opened the doors to convenient shopping for anything from food to computers from the comfort of our own homes. All the same, £33 billion’s a pretty hefty amount. What’s your company doing to earn itself a piece of that pie.

The whole globe’s going digital. Online is the new high street. The good news is that the growth of online retail represents a brilliant opportunity for retailers. This is especially true for smaller companies who might not have the high street presence they crave. Online, everyone’s equal. Or at least everyone has the potential to be. Ask your digital agency, it’s true! All of this means that even the smallest of companies can reach new clients as long as they have a decent digital strategy.

Unfortunately, too many smaller companies have fallen into the trap of neglecting their digital strategy. At this interval it is important to mention that simply owning a website does not count as a digital strategy. For smaller companies in particular, the investment in a digital agency can seem huge. But given that the return on investment of a good digital agency is only as limited as demand for whatever your company offers, it’s worth it.

Allowing a digital agency to manage your online presence can seem daunting. But you must think of your digital strategy like a well-oiled machine with many component parts, like web design, web development, search engine optimisation, e-mail marketing, PPC and social media, amongst others. If one of these components fails, the entire machine will probably stall. If you were to try to find someone to manage each component of the machine in-house, you’d spend a lot of money and time and still struggle. Lucky then that your digital agency can manage all of this in one company. If just one company could build you a user-friendly website that’s as attractive to the human eye as it is the Google robots that scan it then provide you with the tools to keep it updated easily and then improve the site’s visibility and that of your brand using their web marketing expertise, you’d jump at the chance to hire them, wouldn’t you? And that’s exactly why you can’t afford not to use a digital agency.
